The Self Collar & Cuff Jacket
This is a reversible jacket with dolman sleeves. The "self collar" means it is attached to the "front" portion of the pattern which makes it quick and easy to make. It is made with two layers of fabric with muslin (or flannel) in between. Use two fabrics that coordinate or denim on one side with batik on the other. Just remember that whatever is on the inside (at the time) shows on the collar that is flipped back and on the cuff that is turned back. The edges of the jacket are finished with matching bias strips.
Make a simple jacket or add techniques like applique and free motion stippling. Make a jacket to remind you of the seashore with fish, shells, and starfish. Prefer Asian designs? Then add some bamboo and Geisha faces. A pleasant floral and tropical design is perfect for year round wear.
